I don't typically use external monitors so this made more of a difference to me than someone who might be connected to one most of the time. Also, the more I used it, the more I really grew to appreciate the extra screen size of the 15". both to be more or less expected in a laptop under that sort of load). As much as I would have liked to have the slightly smaller/lighter form factor - the 13" (with its dual core and no dGPU) couldn't really handle even light 3D gaming in my testing without dropping so many frames that you'd never want to even play it, whereas the 15", while being no serious high end gaming machine, handles light to medium 3D games without much of an issue (besides the fan ramping up and it getting warm. I didn't have time to throw enough at it music production wise to really see it handled small to medium sized test projects just fine.īut I ended up keeping the 15". The 13" was so light and compact and was definitely a capable machine. I was pretty torn between the portability vs power. Just a couple of weeks ago, I bought both a 2015 13" MBP (3.1Ghz i7/16MB/512GB) and a 2015 15" MBP (2.5Ghz i7/16MB/512GB/AMD dGPU) so I could bring them home and compare them side by side. I'm not in graphic design but do some music production, as well as some light gaming.

I've recently researched a lot of threads with this same (and similar) questions in it and the general consensus seems to be that the 13" can almost definitely get the job done but the 15" is obviously more powerful and can get the job done faster (and perhaps better.?).
